Taylor Swift plays the first of two shows June 16 at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. Then again, that’s her brand - she’s Taylor. Talk about being comfortable with herself and her celebrity. So much, in fact, that prior to playing “champagne problems,” she had problems of her own in the form of fighting an allergies that required her to tell the audience she needed to, well, ahem, blow her nose - which she did while seated on a piano bench in front of 72,000 fans. More importantly, Swift came across as incredibly humble, funny and honest. ![]() What began with a Cirque du Soleil-like performance unveiling Swift on stage was followed by raising LED risers, imaginative sets and a light show that went to the heavens.Įntering the stadium, audience members were given interactive bracelets that lit up half a dozen colors mirroring the stage visuals and further cementing the connection between artist and fan. One thing after another upped the ante while also seemingly creating intimacy within a cavernous and raucous venue. ![]() Regarding the Super Bowl halftime reference - by the way, entertainment for the 2024 game hasn’t been announced, but Swift is an obvious frontrunner - the production values alone were mind-blowing. ![]() Swift rocked the packed stadium on a seasonably mild Western Pennsylvania evening. It wasn’t the Super Bowl halftime show, but that’s how it felt for roughly three hours as the spectacle that the biggest summer tour delivered time and time again. “Buckle up - this is going to be wild,” said Taylor Swift on June 16 while performing the first of two sold-out “The Eras Tour” shows at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
